Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 23, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies Punta Diving uses on punta-diving.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let the site remember settings, keep you signed in, and — when you allow it — measure how the site is used. Some technologies (local storage, pixels) behave similarly and are covered by this policy as well.

2. Your choices

The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept optional cookies. You can accept all, reject optional, or manage preferences per category. You can change your decision any time via the Cookie preferences link in the footer, or by clearing the punta_consent_v1 entry in your browser’s Local Storage. Browser-level controls (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) also let you block cookies globally or per site.

3. Categories we use

Strictly necessary — always active

Required to run the site securely. They do not require consent (Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive, Croatian Electronic Communications Act).

  • sessionid — Django session, used only if you sign into the admin. First-party, session.
  • csrftoken — cross-site-request-forgery protection. First-party, 1 year.

Functionality — always active

Remember your preferences. No consent required.

  • django_language — remembers the language you selected (en / hr / de). First-party, 1 year.
  • punta_consent_v1 — local-storage entry that remembers your cookie decision so we do not re-prompt on every page view. First-party, persistent until you clear it.

Analytics — only with your consent

Off by default. Loaded only after you accept in the banner. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which dive sites, courses and pages our visitors are interested in. We run Google Consent Mode v2, so until you consent, Google receives only a cookieless “ping” for aggregate statistics.

  • _ga — distinguishes users. Third-party (Google), up to 2 years.
  • _ga_<container-id> — session state for GA4. Third-party (Google), up to 2 years.

IP addresses are truncated (IP anonymisation) before storage. Provider: Google Ireland Limited, with onward transfer to Google LLC (United States) under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. See Google’s documentation: business.safety.google/gdpr.

Marketing / advertising — not used

We do not run ad re-targeting, third-party ad pixels, or social-media trackers on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask you for consent before any such cookie is set.

4. Consent lifetime

Your choice is stored locally in your browser via punta_consent_v1. We do not link it to your person. We ask again if you clear your browser data, or at least every 12 months if you stay on the “reject optional” setting, in line with current EU guidance.

5. Changes

If we add new cookies or change providers, we will update this page and, for any new analytics or marketing cookies, re-prompt you via the banner.
