Gladiator Wreck

Gladiator

Šibenski Kanal

Wreck Concession Max depth 53 m

The Gladiator lies on the bottom in about 53 m, with the main deck in the 45 m band—deep enough that this is clearly a site for experienced and tec divers, not a first wreck.

The hull was built in 1915 as a tug and towing ship. She sank in 1941 off the coast of Zlarin in the Šibenik channel, after striking a mine. The wreck is on the order of ~30 m long, heavily overgrown, with plenty of structure still worth exploring on the outside.

A tight passageway and several openings in the hull allow glimpses of the inner spaces—treat that as a controlled, team-planned environment, not solo “peek-ins.” About 15 nautical miles from Murter in straight-line terms; the boat run through the channels is longer. Plan for deco gas, cold water, and limited visibility as part of the package.
